The Body Shop International PLC Acquires Canadian Body Shop Operations

On July 22, 2004, The Body Shop International PLC, through two wholly-owned subsidiaries, The Body Shop Canada Limited of Canada and Buth-Na-Bodhaige Inc. in the United States, acquired the head office and retail operations of its head franchisee in Canada, 94272 Canada Limited, carrying on business as The Body Shop Canada.  The Canadian Body Shop operation is conducted through 111 stores across Canada of which 69 are owned by sub-franchisees.

Body Shop International was represented by Susan Flook, Group General Counsel, and by a team from Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP comprised of Berl Nadler, Patrick Moyer, Darren Wasylucha and Brooke Jamison (Corporate/Commercial), Gregory Southam, Kent Beattie and Jeffrey Lem (Commercial Real Estate), David Smith and Siobhan Monaghan (Taxation) and Simon Lockie and Julie Soloway (Competition and International Trade).
