Infrastructure

Our infrastructure practice group is a multi-disciplinary group of talented lawyers experienced in all aspects of infrastructure projects from structuring public private partnerships with all levels of government to multi-level debt and equity financing to construction and development transactions. Our advice in connection with infrastructure projects ranges from joint venture structuring, public and private financings, domestic and international tax, regulatory issues, litigation, site assembly, environmental remediation and project development for both public and private sector clients. The projects we work on constitute some of the most significant infrastructure projects in Canada in the last decade, including major toll roads, bridges and rail tunnels, nuclear power plants, waterfront restoration projects, rail stations and rail lines and international airports.

The extent of our infrastructure practice is best illustrated with a sampling of our recent engagements:

  • The development and financing of the Confederation Bridge linking New Brunswick and P.E.I.;
  • The acquisition, development and financing of Terminal Three, Toronto International Airport;
  • The development bid for and the financing of the Province of Ontario's Highway 407 ETR Project;
  • The acquisition and joint venture restructuring of the Windsor/Detroit international rail tunnel;
  • The negotiation of the development and construction commitments for the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid athletic and accommodation facilities.
