Our lawyers have extensive experience with the purchase and sale of significant and complex properties and portfolios of property in Canada and the United States.  Some of the transactions we have been involved with include the following:
  • Acting for the Wal-Mart - First Pro Realty Partnership in the sale of 12 shopping centres comprising a total of approximately 2,402,329 rentable square feet of leased area for approximately $309 million;
  • Acting for SITQ Immobilier in its acquisition of The 1515 Broadway (VIACOM) building in New York City with SL Green Realty Corp. (approximately value US$500 million);
  • Acting for Goldman, Sachs & Co./Westmont Hospitality Group in the $300 million initial public offering of units of InnVest Real Estate Investment Trust and the acquisition of a portfolio of 114 hotels located throughout Canada;
  • Acting for London Life Insurance Company and GWL Realty Advisors in the acquisition of the 2001 University office building, located in Montreal, Quebec, by HOOPP Realty Inc. for $53.6 million;
  • Acting for 100 Bloor Street West Corporation in the purchase of 100 Bloor Street West, Toronto for $57.32 million (57,500 square feet of upscale retail space and associated underground parking), together with financing for the transaction in the amount of $34.5 million;
  • Acting for Jesta Capital Corp. in the sale of a portfolio of 3,100 multi-family rental units to Boardwalk Equities Inc. (approximately $177.5 million)
