Our PracticeOur litigators' skills are not limited to the more traditional vehicle of the courts. The members of our litigation practice group have broad experience in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including court-mandated and non-court-mandated mediation and both domestic and international (including ICC) commercial arbitration, involving all manner of disputes. By way of example only, our group has been involved in the following:
- A significant construction arbitration involving Canadian and French litigants;
- Regularly acting as counsel to NHL teams in player salary arbitrations under the collective bargaining agreement;
- Acting for a Canadian mining company in an ICC arbitration relating to a contractual dispute;
- Acting for a Canadian company in an arbitration with a U.S. company over a purchase price adjustment clause;
- Acting in an ICC arbitration involving environmental issues and a bankrupt partner in Europe.
