Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. acquired Cumberland Ressources Ltd. in a share-exchange take-over bid that values Cumberland at approximately $710 million.  The acquisition of Cumberland, specifically their Meadowbank gold project in Nunavut, increases Agnico-Eagle's pro-forma gold resources by 28 per cent.  Davies represented Agnico-Eagle in Canada and the United States.
