Man Financial Canada, Ltd., an affiliate of Man Financial Inc., acquired all of the outstanding shares of Refco Canada Co. The transaction was completed pursuant to an agreement between Man Financial Inc. and Refco Inc. in which Man Financial Inc. agreed to acquire substantially all of the worldwide assets of Refco Inc. for an aggregate purchase price of US$282 million. As part of the acquisition of the Canadian operations of Refco Inc., Man Financial Inc. sold back to Albert Friedberg and his associates ,  Refco Canada Co.'s interest in Friedberg Mercantile Group Ltd.
