Circuit City Stores, Inc. acquired all outstanding shares of common stock of InterTAN, Inc. for U.S.$286 million. InterTAN, Inc. operates through approximately 990 company retail stores and dealer outlets in Canada under the trade names RadioShack®, Rogers Plus® and Battery Plus®. The take-over was carried out in Canada pursuant to National Instrument 71-101 The Multijurisdictional Disclosure System and is the first North-bound MJDS take-over as the Ontario Securities commission had never done one before.
